Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-orca

It would be useful to have an easy way to setup full-screen magnification support. Technically speaking, that means configuring a dummy Xorg screen (using the Xorg "dummy" driver) in addition to the usual screen and telling orca to put the gnome desktop on the dummy sreen and the magnification on the usual screen.

Oh, actually, starting from gnome-mag 0.14.1 and thanks to the composite extension, the "dummy" trick is not needed any more, and just running "magnifier -fmz 4" works, for instance.

I've upgraded to jaunty and having trouble with the magnification- lots of artifacts or in many cases it doesn't actually draw screen changes. For example, regions of the firefox window are garbage when I move the zoom focus to them and only repaint when I highlight text or hover over form input regions.

I wasn't having any trouble in intrepid... I double-checked the settings in Orca as well as made sure I was using Gnome's "Simple" desktop mode.

Since full-screen magnification is possible with Orca as of Jaunty, I'll go ahead and close this bug for now.
