same here problem here, running gutsy herd 5 amd64 livecd, plus all updates as of now (20070927).
This happens just after clicking forward after the audio test (which worked fine)

I have applied all updates (11 Sept 2007) and get the same problem as Davie mentions above.

System:
- Fujitsu S6410P
- Intel Core 2 Duo
- Kubuntu Gutsy Gibbon Tribe 5 with updates as of 11 Sept 2007
