Expect to happen - Press play within apps such as rhythmbox and vlc (with a loaded music file) and it play music.
Please note that I am unable to hear audo from youtube (within google chrome) too.

What happened - Music proceeds to make out as if it's playing - ie there is no error message, although there is no sound.

I renamed the ~/.control/pulse folder to recreate the pulseaudio settings.
The only thing that this has resolved is being able to use my usb device as an input device.

Otherwise the issue is the same.

In relation to that link, is there anything that I can do with that information to add to a file and fix my issue?
Thanks

Here is my system log as of tonight.

Hi all,

I seem to have resolved my problem with my audio.
I have downloaded the application QAS mixer and deselected Audigy Analog/Digital Audio Pack.
This immediately resulted in starting to play the sound that I had going in the background.
Not sure as to what triggered this setting to become selected.
