Welcome screen should offer option to create document from clipboard

If you want to start working on a text copied from another source, you first have to create a new document in Scratch before you can actually paste the text into the new file. It would be nice to have a third option in the Welcome screen which allows you to create a new document from the current content of the clipboard (so the content of the clipboard is directly copied into the new document).

I don't think this is that necessary. A clipboard history would be enough.
Hitting ctrl+v on a new document should show a list with the last 5/10 copied texts.

At this moment, elementaryOS does only have basic clipboard
functionality, which means only one item can be stored in the clipboard
if I'm not mistaken. Enabling Scratch to keep a history of copied/ cut
items, would probably mean changes outside Scratch have to be made.
Your suggestion might be viable once those changes have been made (if
they want to support this), but until than, just being able to create a
document from the current clipboard content via the welcome screen will
be a very user-friendly addition.
