Bug Description
The alignment should be handled automatically.
You can't expect the casual translator to know all these spaces are alignment. And, even if you know it, it is awful to get it right when you have to translate in Launchpad (no monospace font as in a terminal).
Please just use one of the numerous arguments-parsing libraries that can also generate the --help automatically.
It would be easier for you than trying to reinvent the wheel, the code will be shorter and translators won't have to deal with this alignment nightmare.

Thanks Nicolas. The bug title probably isn't accurate, given that several other successful translation attempts have already taken place for other languages. With respect to the formatting, we actually are using an argument parsing library, glibc's getopt functionality.
