Bug Description
Binary package hint: puredata
This may be a stupid question, but could the Ubuntu (Studio) version of pd use a more sane open dialog, similar to those used in other GNOME programs? The one it currently has is both ugly and very frustrating to use. But I know pd's functionality is sort of intimately intertwined with its graphics toolkit(?), so this may be unrealistic. Just a proposal.

I don't think anybody really wants to port the GNOME file choosers to Tcl/Tk, so it's not going to happen unless the GUI is rewritten.
