Bug Description
Ubuntu 12.10
xpdf package version 3.03-9ubuntu5
The xpdf application will start if no PDF file is specified. However, any attempt to load a file into the running app, including specifying a PDF file on the command line causes an immediate core dump with the following output:
20-> xpdf hello.pdf

Memory fault(coredump)
This is 100% consistent with any PDF input file. This has been going on since the upgrade to Ubuntu 12.10 and has not been affected by any software upgrades over the past 6-8 months at least.
I just created a core dump of the xpdf program. A system crash report was submitted. I am attaching the generated core file here.
