Bug Description
Hi,
$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu Saucy Salamander (development branch)
Release: 13.10
$ apt-cache policy kde-workspace
kde-workspace:
Installed: 4:4.10.90-0ubuntu2

Expected behavior : on laptop lid close, the system suspends to RAM. HDD & fan stop, power led starts blinking
Actual behavior : HDD & fan continue running. Power LED glows continuously. Screen is locked with password dialog and display backlight is turned off (it is turned back on shortly after I open the lid).
Same behavior (no suspend) I get when trying to suspend the system through KDE menu ("K" - Leave - Sleep).
"sudo pm-suspend" works as expected (only does not lock the screen).
in .xsession-errors I see these lines added on lid close (looking there remotely by ssh) :
kded(1640) PowerDevil:
kded(1640) PowerDevil:
kded(1640) PowerDevil:
kded(1640) checkSystemdVer
kded(1640) UPowerSuspendJo
I remember there were some systemd packages installed during Saucy update. May be I need to install some needed package to make this work ? (which may not currently be listed as a dependency). Now I have installed these power-related packages :
ii acpid 1:2.0.18-1ubuntu1 amd64 Advanced Configuration and Power Interface event daemon
ii libupower-glib1 0.9.20-1ubuntu2 amd64 abstraction for power management - shared library
ii pm-utils 1.4.1-11 all utilities and scripts for power management
ii powermgmt-base 1.31build1 amd64 Common utils and configs for power management
ii upower 0.9.20-1ubuntu2 amd64 abstraction for power management
and these ones for systemd :
ii libpam-
ii libsystemd-
ii libsystemd-
ii systemd-services 204-0ubuntu4 amd64 systemd runtime services
ii systemd-shim 3+real-0ubuntu1 amd64 shim for systemd
