Hangs during boot

On kubuntu 13.04 sometimes doesnt boot properly: when I view the messages during booting (with f12) the flow of messages stops at some point and nothing happens for a couple of minutes. Then the kde startup screen appears (with the harddisk icons etc) but this hangs after showing the harddisk. ...

I will include the last parts of dmesg log files in this mail, the first one of a normal boot, the second one of a boot that hanged. (adding attatchments doesnt work for some reason)

I think this has to do with vgaswitcheroo. In kern.log I see messages like quoted below. I googled for this and found some bug that happens if vgaswitcheroo is used to turn off the discrete graphics card. When I turn it on again, the error for now goes away..

josvanr, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

If reproducible, could you also please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ?
