Firefox 22 fails to load websites

Bug Description

Ubuntu 12.04

After the upgrade to Firefox 22, many websites fail to load (timeout).

Tried rebooting, clearing cache and offline data and starting Firefox in safe mode. Nothing helped. Other browsers work without problems.

It looks like only encrypted sites are loading, but some of them very slowly. I tested this on about 50 websites.

I would upload log files, but can't, because apport doesn't properly anonymize them.

Sorry, but you need to use Apport to report Firefox bugs as per the bug reporting guidelines (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs).

Changed in firefox (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

Fix your shitty apport then to anonymize user/host names.

affects: firefox (Ubuntu) → ubuntu

Seeing as this is indexed by google and ranks very high, I'll keep it updated even though it's marked invalid as others may have the same problem.

You can fix this by deleting the firefox settings folder ~/.mozilla

So far I can't reproduce it even after installing the same addons as before in the new profile, so maybe it's a problem with the settings somewhere.

I'm getting a similar problem after upgrading to Firefox 22. (This is under Fedora, but this is the only mention I can find.)

Under my usual Firefox profile, all websites except Google ones time-out. This is not fixed by starting in safe mode, but is fixed by starting Firefox with a different profile.

Can't see any settings that could be causing this. Looks like I'll have to transfer over my extensions and customizations to a new profile.

Ah, the problem is that FF22 is doing something funny with proxy settings. Fixed by changing to "No proxy" in Edit->Preferences->Advanced->Network->Settings.
