power options on closing lid not working properly

I am using a Dell Studio 1555 laptop running 13.04. When I choose the option "Do Nothing" on closing lid, it still suspends system. No way to recover from suspend but to hard reset. Have been facing this problem since 11.10

Sorry. I tried marking the package as ubuntu. It wouldnt accept. Dont know why. Even tried marking as not knowing which package it affects. But it kept adding back firefox

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version.

If the suggestion in comment #3 didn't work then according to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage#Hardware_Malfunctions, this bug should have been reported against the kernel.

If you are still seeing an issue in a currently supported release, please reassign the report against "linux" and then upload the updated logs by running only once:

apport-collect 1193776. the status of the report can then be changed back to "New".
