The lastest release of 'likewise-open' (now called pbis-open) is 7.1.0.1203 with the author's package here:

Is there a plan to update the ubuntu package to 7.1.0? Is there anything I can do to help?

I'm working on a patch to submit to BeyondTrust so that the current PBIS Open sources will build following the submission rules of Ubuntu. However, I can't get added to the "Likewise Open" group here, so we may be creating a new "pbis-open" package that would upgrade and remove "likewise-open".
My current patch is having an issue with the large library differences between the PBIS Open source (from their git) and the Ubuntu sources. My PBIS contact says there's some work being done there.
If anyone on this bug list has any way to help me make this easier on the Ubuntu side (updating likewise-open rather than having to make a new package), I'd love to hear it.
