Synaptic Package Manager Freezes

Version Of Linux Mint I,m Using Linux Mint 15 Olivia 64 bit Mate Desktop
What you did for the problem to happen, and how to reproduce it?
browsing through any one of the lists within the Synaptic Package Manager
to reproduce it should be simple open up synaptic and start browsing the lists you browse long enough it will freeze
you cant do anything minimize the window and then restore it it will be completely white then you have to force quit the program
What you expected to happen instead? Nothing no freezing just normal behaviour
On Linux Mint 15 Olivia The Synaptic Package Manager Freezes when browsing through the list of packages
the problem is only with the newest version all the older versions from 0.75.12build1 and older work fine
also it causes issues with apt locking up after it freezes i have done extensive testing and found the fallowing version is to blame
here are the details

I can confirm this bug. I installed Olivia on two laptops, and both have the same problem. You can only do two installs or uninstalls in Synaptic Manager before it freezes and the window whites out. Then when you finally force quit and it closes, clicking on the program to launch it again fails to launch it. It only launches if you reboot the system.

Happens to me too whilst browsing Synaptic PM packages. It is definitely not a Mint15-only issue. After reboots the problem reproduces itself. SynapticPM will run, I can enter my password, mess around a little and then will freeze every time on me.

T60, Toshiba, Dell lattitude, same problem here. Worked fine in Mint 14, Mint 15 has the problem with synaptic. It freezes and need a reboot to be able to restart it.

I confirm I have the same probleme with Mint Olivia 15 installed on a laptop envy 14.

I have roported this to Ubuntu as Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu Linux which is based on Debian Linux. but I have had the same problems when trying to update the canvas libraries to totally unlock the WebGL which has been throwing up errors about not able to access Canvas. so about going off subect but that is what caused the Synaptic Program Manager to lock up.
