Bug Description

ask.openstack tracks counts views for questions.

This seems to be a reasonable metric for popular questions, which could uncover significant difficulties people are having with OpenStack.

I'd be interested in sorting by view count, or exploring other ideas to look at extracting views for information.

Number of views is directly proportional to the question age, so unfortunately view counter alone is not that useful.

Maybe view rate would be better.

Thanks for the reply Evgeny.

I have attached an example screenshot which I think shows well what I want to try and find.

It shows a series of questions sorted by date (all first week of July).

The questions are mostly around 30-40 views, but then there is one with 1,000+

This is the kind of question I want to be able to find easily - created at the similar time of less popular questions, but has many, many more views.

Maybe we should implement a "hotness" algorithm. It seems that what you would like to see is outliers in the disproportioned number of views, not just an absolute number.

For this specific case sorting by views will pull the 1k+ viewed question, but as your site gets older these may be mixed up with old questions and the list won't be as relevant.
