[Enhancement] Add the generic support of direct image link (.png, .jpg, .gif, …) in Image Preview

Bug Description
Seems that Image Preview don't have the support for direct image link (generic support so, here).
Therefore, clicking on a .png/.jpg/.gif image link (hosted anywhere than the supported services like pic.twitter.com or imgur.com) open a tab in the browser rather than showing the image directly in Image Preview (and showing a thumbnail in the timeline in addition therefore).
You can try with this direct .png link (here on a voluntarily less known images hosting service but can be on a dedicated OVH server for example, or whatever as we talk about generic .png/.jpg/.gif direct link here):
