[gutsy]EXA crashes X when enabling compiz

Bug Description

when simply modifying my stock xorg.conf to use EXA acceleration and then turning on desktop effects, X crashes (ati radeon 9000, goes back to the login screen), works fine with the old xaa acceleration. Very low priority, although I know soon exa will be the default, so it would be good to get the bugs out of it before it becomes the default. Will try to remember to post the logs and such later.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you please add your '/etc/X11/xorg.conf' file and your '/var/log/Xorg.0.log' file as attachments to your bug report? Thanks in advance.

depends on bug 119119 getting fixed before I can go ahead and post those.

I don't see anything out of order in my Xorg.0.log, not sure why X crashes and restarts with EXA when I enable desktop effects.

Thomas,

Perhaps bug 126425 has the solution to your problem. If recompiling xserver-xorg-core without the offending patch makes EXA + Compiz works for you, please report in my bug and mark this one as a duplicate (since mine is detailed upstream too).

Sorry, I don't really know where to get the source for it, and I would be a bit afraid of seriously messing up my system.
