Bug Description

At the moment, the only way to set HIDD_ENABLED=1 in /etc/default/bluetooth is to edit the textfile.

If we want to provide a good end-user bluetooth management, the Bluetooth Preferences Gui in Gnome pannel /System/Preferences should be more complete. We need too to have the possibility to create internet connection via bluetooth with a Gui. This is not only used by geeks, a lot of consultants use that to stay connected when moving from office.

Can we imagine that the Gnome Bluetooth applet can work like the "Network Manager" : left-clic on it would show the list of peripherals, right clic provides access to preferences, and selecting a device in the list would launch a separate window with the list of service and the possibility to configure what the user wants to use in a easy way ?? (or something like that...)

It may be too late to have that kind of tool/gui for feisty+1, but it would be great to think about it. Command lines and text file edit for configuration are not a good way to think the use of bluetooth. And having just a Bluetooth icon close to the date, but can not do anything with it, that is too limited

You will find my test plan enclosed, see that it works but there is a lot of errors. The cell phone is a Sony Ericsson K800, the laptop is a Sony Vaio TX2XP with Intel Centrino/Wifi/Bluetooth chipsets.

This should be significantly improved in the BlueZ Gnome 1.9 package that entered intrepid yesterday.
