i dont see any noticable problems except not being able to adjust the screen brightness

Your screen backlight is usually a completely separate device and kernel driver from the graphics driver. Have a look in: class/backlight /
/sys/
for details and low-level controls.

So this is not a valid cedarview- drm-drivers bug. But if you find which package is at fault causing your backlight problem, you can add it to this bug.
