Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

The default buddy icon in pidgin is blank. Instead it should be the one that the user choose in gnome's "personal info"

This is the current behavior in Hardy Heron Alpha 1 (and maybe Gutsy Gibbon). What version are you experiencing this problem?

I mean that ~/.face should be connected to the buddy icon in pidgin.
Currently I'm using hardy and pidgin 1:2.2.2-1ubuntu1 and this does not happen

I know what you mean. It's odd this happens for me an not for you... Have you changed any default settings?

Odd, i've changed my image and pidgin hasn't updated it. I guess it only does it initially. I may have to reinstall hardy to see if that is truly the behavior. Till then, I'll mark this bug as confirmed?

ok.
I did a test. I removed my .purple directory to see what happens the
first time I start pidgin. I can confirm it puts the face you've
chosen.
Maybe this bug could be closed, and we can open another one called
"pidgin does not update the buddy icon when the image is changed from
gnome's personal information"
