What version of Ubuntu are you using? Is this still an issue?

I've had this happen too (it used 1,6 GB. which is probably all it could grab) I think it started happening after I added some new entries in the external-filters.xml (I wanted it to index some extra txt files). I've now disabled this extra rule to see if this still happens without the rule. I'm also watching beagle-status to see where this happens.

This is in intrepid, with Beagle: 0.3.8 and Mono 1.9.1.

Can either of you confirm that this problem still exists?

I can confirm this bug. (Beagle Search 0.3.9 - Ubuntu 9.10 32bit)

beagled-helper will eat up all of the system memory and about 500mb of the swap, the system will be unresponsive during that time, once beagled-helper stops whatever it is doing running swapoff and swapon will return the system to a usable state.

I have noticed this on two workstations out of six.

Luckily on one of the systems I noticed that it occurred right after I downloaded an image from flickr; and continues to happen on that system every time I log in (after about a minute delay).

I ran beagle-extract-content on the image in question, which will cause the problem and attached is the output in question.
