live usb boot dock invisible

I have just booted the Elementary 0.2 Luna Beta from USB and the dock while visible initially has now disappeared. It is still showin tooltips (e.g Midori text shows up when hovering over it).

However the icons have immeadialtey gone fully transparent.

This is all on my girlfriend's laptop which is a Sony VGN-C25G or PGR-6R6P I'm not 100% sure.

If you need any new info let me know, meanwhile I'm going to attempt an install.
