Lightdm logins not being logged in wtmp

Bug Description
When I check with last or lastb the /var/log/wtmp login logs, it only logs the ssh logins and the reboots, but none of the other user logins which are clear from /var/log/auth (but not as nice to parse).

This is problem exists in precise, lightdm version: 1.2.3-0ubuntu2, 32bit
