But if I try to use the created serial device /dev/ttyUSB0 from my wvdial script the system hangs. I can reproduce this on two laptops (Thinkpad z60m and Fujitsu Siemens Amilo si1520)
i have the same problem on Thinkpad T60. Simply doing cat /dev/ttyUSB0 on two terminals hangs system. It seems that linux 2.6.21 has some fixes for Merlin XU870 - http:// crypto. riken.go. jp/pub/ linux/kernel. org/kernel/ v2.6/snapshots/ patch-2. 6.21-rc3- git6.log
