Bug Description

If you are installing kmymoney2 from Ubuntu, kdehelpcenter is not installed.

So if the user click on Help->Handbook, He will receive this message:
"Could not launch KDE help center: could not find service khelpcenter"

This is solvable easily by installing khelpcenter but this is confusing for new users:

These answers do not completely solve the problem with khelpcenter, I added a comment to https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kmymoney2/+question/7614

sudo apt-get install khelpcenter doesn't fix the problem.
Over 1 year later and the bug still exists in ubuntu intrepid, I even installed kde on my ubuntu intrepid box, and still the problem occurs even in a kde session.

I am having the same problem. It affects some, but not all, KDE programs. So far I have gotten the problem with KPar2 and Amarok, but with Krusader the Help Center opens normally. Installing khelpcenter (using Adept or the command line) does not fix it. Reinstalling the application does not fix it. Reinstalling the Kubuntu desktop does not fix it. I am running Kubuntu Intrepid, cleanly installed from a donwloaded and verified CD. I have tested this on two such systems, and get the same results on both, giving me reason to think that it may possibly be something inherent in the Kubuntu install.

Thank you,

Me too. Intrepid - khelpcenter - no go. How the hell do I get help for kaffeine? Can I just go to a folder and print it out? I really want to get DVB working on Ubuntu. AND, khelpcenter IS INSTALLED. This is a path problem I think.

Fixed in KDE4. The khelpcenter is a Recommends of kdebase-runtime-data-common, which means it will be installed by default since every KDE application depends on it.
