Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.20-15-generic

with the feisty kernels ( 2.6.20 revision 15 and 16 ) my laptop ( Acer TravelMate 2420 ) isn't responding correctly when I close the lid --- the first time it goes into suspend as expected, but after resuming, there's no reaction when the lid is closed again.

This is like bug 108561, but I'm using KDE, so it can't be gnome-power-manager's fault :-)

If I boot kernel 2.6.17 ( from edgy ), the laptop works correctly ( although there are still more problems, faulty resumes etc, than in edgy ).

The problem is I'm not certain if this is a problem with the kernel ( suspend mechanism ) or with acpi ( the button sensor mechanism ).

Suspending manually, running 2.6.20, isn't stable either---but when it works, its LIGHTNING FAST!! Sometimes I just press `suspend' and nothing happens though---and sometimes it even waits about 20secs, end *then* suspends :-s

After an upgrade to Gutsy, this annoying glitch is finally gone, but only after
I DELETED my ~/.kde/share/config/power-managerrc manually. Perhaps that's what I should have done right away?

Works with 2.6.22, and maybe it was in fact the power manager applet's fault :s
