Bug Description

Some locomotives use part of the body as a freight animation so that the body may be seen outside of the cab. This is the BLW/ZT Central Vermont GP9. The body is leaning into a turn, but the cab is not, so you see there is a grey vertical bar that shouldn't be there. Version 1605.

Where could we get the locomotive?

However, any of their GP9, GP7, or Alco S2 locomotives would work for fixing this.

Do you have any of those free locomotives that we can download and test?

OK, this is more difficult than I thought as to make the cab move nicely with the animated freight body, we need a cab texture much larger than the current size so we do not have gaps along the edges. Currently I have committed a code to avoid cab sway and body rotation if the locomotive has freight animation.

Some consists use freight animation to display the interior of the consist (e.g. many EMUs of the Bernina railway, the M90_SBB_CFF_FFS_Etr610 Pendolino tilting train). This interior is not visible from the cab so it gave no problems with superelevation. With this modification unfortunately such rolling stock does not rotate any more on superelevation. Waiting that you solve the problem, maybe you could temporarily insert an experimental checkbox to define if rolling stock with freightanimation rotates or not on superelevation?

Alt-R can now toggle cab rotation.

Jijun,
thanks for this intermediate solution!

Fixed the problem by rotating cab camera correctly, so the FA rotates with the body now. Alt-R is changed to adjust the amount of cab rotation.
