Bug Description

Evergreen: Master as of 20130414 && (20130514 + some updates)
OpenSRF: N/A
PG version: N/A

One of our member librarians reported:

I just clicked on the author "Du Maurier, Daphne, 1907-1989" from a
search results page, to see other works, and came up with 0 results - it
looks like the dash was stripped from the date:

Sorry, no entries were found for "Du Maurier Daphne 19071989".

The same thing is happening with any author with birth and death dates
in the search results, in the staff client and the [TPAC]. It works
correctly if I'm go to a bib record ... view and click on the author
from there.

I have confirmed the behavior in the TPAC outside of the staff client as well.

This probably affects all versions of TPAC, but I would appreciate confirmation from others.

Confirmed to also occur in 2.3.

It looks as if it's behaving properly on NOBLE's 2.2 catalog.

Marking confirmed for me on master as well. And assigning series targets and milestones for 2.3 and 2.4.

I think based on the code that's being changed that it wouldn't affect 2.2 since the code is different there.

Changed in evergreen:
status: New → Confirmed
importance: Undecided → Medium
milestone: none → 2.5.0-m1

It affects authors with hyphenated names as well. Arthur Quiller-Couch is an example that causes the problem in our catalog.

Works for me and deals with dates and names with dashes.

Picked to master, rel_2_4, and rel_2_3.
