Maybe we should keep transitional packages for LTS support. Discuss in this bug.

I dont really see a downside to re-enabling them. it looks like they are still there although not sure if they work or not

This has been fixed with newer releases of Ubuntu. We are so close to EOLS for 7.10 i say leave it alone if it is not already fixed but it should have been already/
