unable to delete thunderbird subfolder

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

First created subfolder to the saved folder in my user mail.
Later attempted to delete this subfolder without success.
Tried right-clicking 'delete'. Doesn't work.
Tried dragging to 'deleted' folder but that simply copies the subfolder and doesn't remove it.

FWIW, I saw something similar once on an IMAP account. The reason was that the IMAP server was incorrectly set up for subfolders with mbox format. Maybe that is what you are seeing as well. WFM
