Bug Description

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS 64-bit on a Thinkpad W510, with the nvidia-current driver (v304.88), and Compiz. I see this problem with both Unity and Unity 2D. A couple of times a day the UI will stop working, I can move the mouse cursor but can't click on anything (eg no drag icon appears when I mouse over a window), eventually (after a while) it continues to work. Sometimes logging out or rebooting fixes the issue. The problem only occurs when using the laptop display. If I boot using an external display I never see the problem.

Thank you for your bug report. That ticket is quite old and we didn't get recent report of the problem, also it seems to work correctly now, closing. Feel free to reopen if you can still reproduce in more recent versions
