Bug Description

Sometimes when I open an image or I change of image in Gthumb, it crashes . The error in console is:
     gthumb: /build/buildd/cairo-1.12.14/src/cairo-mempool.c:160: get_buddy: Assertion `offset + (1 << bits) <= pool->num_blocks' failed.
    Aborted

Same bug here on Ubuntu 12.10, gthumb 3:3.0.2-0ubuntu2, same error message in .xsession-errors (get)buddy assertion etc)

The same happens to me, but with eog instead of gthumb (exactly the same error message). Seems like the problem is with the library (cairo). (Ubuntu 13.04 - x86_64)

It happens viewing large files: 10-100 MB (png). The bug never occured browsing a collection of small files, up to 1 MB (png and jpg).
