Bug Description
I've just installed 13.04 on a Sony Vaio laptop. Since installing, the only things I've done are:
* update
* install gnome3
* install synaptic

(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment
variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I've tried the "rm -r ~/.cache/
I'm having the same issue.
Ubuntu GNOME 13.04 64 bit. Gnome 3 PPA enabled. Fully updated, 3.8.0-26 kernel. Fully updated as of July 7th 2013. I haven't been able to open the software center for quite a while now, but I've just ignored it, however it's wearing on me now.
