Subject: libgphoto2-2: Cannot download images from Nikon Coolpix 990

Package: libgphoto2-2
Version: 2.1.5-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

The following error message is displayed in the gtkam program when
trying to download a program:

<span weight="bold" size="larger">Could not get 'DSCN4803.JPG' from
folder '/DCIM/100NIKON'.</span>

recursive calls are not supported by the sierra driver! Please contact
<email address hidden>.

Further, I noticed that any action gets extremely slow since that
upgrade.

Note that I use the gtkam program version 0.1.12, from the gtkam
debian package version 0.1.12-2.1.

Proper severity level was "important":
a bug which has a major effect on the usability of a package,
without rendering it completely unusable to everyone.

If camera permits (I think it does) you should switch it to PTP mode
and try again.

Also, what is its USB vendor id/product id ? (lsusb will give you that)

This is not release-critical (was downgraded in Debian as well).

No point in tracking this separately for Ubuntu; it requires a dialog with the
submitter and isn't serious
