I'm reassigning this bug to ubuntu-drivers-common which does the detection work.

Also, I'm not sure if this is a bug at all since currently the discrete NVIDIA card can't be used with stock Ubuntu no matter which drivers are installed. So there's no point showing entries in software-properties that wouldn't work or even worse, might break the system...

affects: software-properties (Ubuntu) → ubuntu-drivers-common (Ubuntu)

Please copy&paste the output of "ubuntu-drivers debug" (in a terminal). Indeed we explicitly *don't* show the nvidia driver if the intel driver is already loaded, as X.org cannot currently handle hybrid mode (the debug log will confirm). You can disable the intel card in the BIOS, then you can use the nvidia one.

Presumably your system has a builtin Intel graphics card as well; if you want to use the NVidia card, you need to disable the Intel card in the BIOS.
