Bug Description
As part of the work to fix bug#1177787 I run a few tests to verify that
overrides were really applied when using them and found that was not the case
when they aren't provided in their own 'overrides' section.
Given that the schema is accepting that kind of input, the override should be
applied to the test case object as expected.
