Bug Description
The default behaviour for Ubuntu is to modeset into a high res text mode, but ILO doesn't support those modes -showing 'console is in a graphical mode' if you try textcons at that point.
This can be worked around by adding 'vga=normal nomodeset' to the kernel boot options, which should be harmless on non-Ubuntu environments, so having this as a default would be very useful.
workaround: edit the template you are using or set pxe_append_params in nova.conf.
