Bug Description

KDM cant find user for authentication and loops back to login on Feisty.

Many reports of this bug and forum entries can be found... no one has posted a credible fix.

Little to no core team activity to define/address the issue across multiple releases of kubuntu-base.

workaround adopted by many community users has been to use KDE with GDM as default.

I thnink you should give more information about this issue. You might find some interessant lines in /var/log/kdm.log, /var/log/auth.log or in your home folder ~/.xesessionerrors when the problem occurs.
