-----------

I've attached the error file mentioned above.

-----------

I repeated the install from scratch (apt-get update/install/purge, add-apt-repository, apt-get update/install, copy-n-paste from the main page) with the same result. In fact, the same error occurred on the second step (install) in that sequence (not a surprise).

I can't reproduce on Lucid 10.04.4 LTS 32bits. Can you please copy/paste the result of the execution of all the steps in the PPA main page?

I am experiencing problem symptoms which lead me to believe I am also experiencing this bug or a nearly similar one.

as apt-get is telling me I have broken packages, (your packages, Damien Cassou) I ran:

praxis-Lenovo-G580 ~ # apt-get install --fix-broken
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree

The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:

Is this also an incidence of bug filed here by someone in Aug 2013: https://bugs.launchpad.net/emacs-snapshot/+bug/1210956 ?

Could you please remove 'apel' from your system? And try again, following all the steps at https://launchpad.net/~cassou/+archive/emacs/
