Allow setting other folders in file browser

Bug Description
At the moment the file browser only allows me to select my home, "home", or "/", none of which are terribly ideal.
It would be good to be able to choose another folder to start from, such as my "Projects" folder, or the main folder of the branch I'm currently working on.
