Bug Description

Description: Ubuntu 13.04
Release: 13.04
linux:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 3.8.0.19.35
  Version table:
     3.8.0.19.35 0
        500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ raring/main amd64 Packages

I often use multiple desktops. If my current app. is full screen, I need these keys to change desktops.

I find it hard to believe this got released without testing something so fundamental.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.9 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Not sure I did the right thing here. Downloaded linux-headers-3.9.0-999_3.9.0-999.201304300405_all
and installed it using the Software Centre (default installer for .deb files, I guess).

No evidence exists in either grub nor /etc/motd that the kernel was updated. Sorry, I have to report my test was 'inconclusive'. If it is installed the correct change is 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

I could confirm the above if I knew how to find the kernel version from the console.

Bug still present in my platform as of this date. Autoinvalidation seems a little premature.
