Bug Description

in Ubuntu 13.04 I tried to install maven from Ubuntu Software Center. This is a very important tool for java developer. Installing this software the system check an error abount package integrity.

The Ubuntu Software Center try to repair the problem, but this is the output:

Unpacking libwagon2-java (from .../libwagon2-java_2.2-3+nmu1_all.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libwagon2-java_2.2-3+nmu1_all.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/share/java/wagon-tck-http.jar', which is also in package libwagon-java 1.0.0-2ubuntu2
dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/libwagon2-java_2.2-3+nmu1_all.deb
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of maven:
 maven depends on libwagon2-java (>= 2.2-2); however:
  Package libwagon2-java is not installed.

dpkg: error processing maven (--configure):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured

Any suggestions????

Maven version: 3.0.4-3
libwagon2-java version: 2.2-3+nmu1 (but not installed for the problems reported above).

I re-installed Ubuntu 13.04 on my Desktop. In the Ubuntu Software Center maven not appear as new software to install.

I Tried to install maven from prompt:

#apt-get install maven2

The system was installed maven at version 2.2.1:

# mavn -version
Apache Maven 2.2.1
...

The current version for ubuntu is the 3.0.4.

This is a work around...

sudo dpkg -i --force-all /var/cache/apt/archives/libwagon2-java_2.2-3+nmu1_all.deb

The command above install

libwagon2-java_2.2-3+nmu1_all.deb

After this is possible to install Maven from Software Update Center......
