Totem cannot place subtitles in black strip below video

When watching a wide-screen video on standard non-wide-screen monitor,
there is a possibility to display subtitles in a black strip below the video
rectangle and many players such as MPlayer have this feature.
Please include this feature in Totem/gstreamer too.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug in the upstream bug tracking system this is a tremendous help. Is the fix available in Ubuntu 15.04 ? I can't find an option to move the subtitles vertically (or horizontally for that matter).
