Bug Description

The behavior of creating detached symbols is a little bit clumsy, if you want parts with different pins in it. The marking "shared by all parts in component" works only for graphics like expectet, which means marking shows this graphic in all parts, and not marking shows it only in the part, where it is created. But if it comes to pins, the non marking happens only if you UNmark this box. So for unmarking you have to mark it first....otherwise the pin will be shown at all parts, even if there is no mark at this box. Playing around with "delete" will confuse the user further more....
Not a secure critical bug, but also very nasty, if you do not know the trick.
It occures at the library editor at:
Application: Eeschema
Version: (2013-03-30 BZR 4007)-stable
Build: wxWidgets 2.8.10 (no debug,Unicode,compiler with C++ ABI 1002,GCC 4.4.5,wx containers,compatible with 2.6)
Platform: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 i686, 32 bit, Little endian, wxGTK
Boost version: 1.53.0
Options: USE_PCBNEW_NANOMETRES=ON
         KICAD_GOST=OFF
         USE_WX_GRAPHICS_CONTEXT=OFF
         USE_WX_OVERLAY=OFF
         KICAD_SCRIPTING=OFF
         KICAD_SCRIPTING_MODULES=OFF
         KICAD_SCRIPTING_WXPYTHON=OFF

with Debian Squeeze. But at Wheezy it is the same, too.

This report is from 3 years ago. I've set to Incomplete to expire in
two months if no other posts happen (just cleaning out the closet).

I think in Part Library Editor when you create a new part with Number of Units>1,
Common to all units checkbox is default On for graphics items, and
default OFF for pins...which is the best behaviour IMO.

If you think this issue still persist, create a new post, and
this thread may come to life.
