Bug Description
Description of problem:HP 915 AIO doesn't work out of the box. hplip-gui is not
able to detect the printer. system-
and configures it with usb backend and correct (?) PPD. But scan capabilities are
then lost e.g. Simple Scan can't detect any scanners.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): This issue existed
with earlier Fedora versions as well, e.g. stock Fedora 16.
How reproducible: Should be seen with any fresh install + HP 915.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot up a system with Fedora 18 (with latest updates).
2. Power on the attached HP 915 AIO printer.
Actual results: system-
can't. Simple Scan can't detect any scanner.
Expected results: Printer should be configured with "hp" CUPS backend and Simple
Scan should be able to detect a scanner.
Additional info: The problem appears to be solved by modifying the file,
/usr/share/
"[hp_915]" - modifying this to "[915]" allows hplip-gui to detect the printer
and reconfigure it with the "hp" CUPS backend. Now, Simple Scan can detect the
scanner.
