Bug Description

After resume the time is correct but when this is clicked on (top right) yesterday's date is shown! I went into time&date settings and checked that time&date are set to update via the internet. It was so configured. I brought up a terminal window and the correct date was shown in response to the date command. I went back into date&time settings and unchecked and rechecked the update via the internet option. I logged off from the desktop session and logged back in (no reboot) and all is correct again. Annoying bug which almost caused me to miss an appointment.

Description: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS
Release: 12.04

Completely up to date, no strange repositories.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1169920/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

I face the same bug (vanilla ubuntu 12.04 32bit, kernel 3.5.0-23-generic) - time is correct, date is wrong after resume from overnight sleep.

right clicking and selecting About on the date/time in the top right corner displays following info:
Indicator Applet Complete - 0.5.0

not sure if this is any helpful to determine versions of binary/package version, but I give a try:

dpkg -l | grep applet
ii gir1.2-panelapplet-4.0 1:3.4.1-0ubuntu1 GObject introspection for the GNOME Panel Applet library
ii gnome-applets 3.4.1-0ubuntu1 Various applets for the GNOME panel - binary files
ii gnome-applets-data 3.4.1-0ubuntu1 Various applets for the GNOME panel - data files
ii gnome-control-center-data 1:3.4.2-0ubuntu0.9 configuration applets for GNOME - data files
ii indicator-applet-complete 0.5.0-0ubuntu1 Clone of the GNOME panel indicator applet
ii libindicator3-7 0.5.0-0ubuntu1 panel indicator applet - shared library
ii libindicator7 0.5.0-0ubuntu1 panel indicator applet - shared library
