Bug Description

I would like to have the ability to enter my own data into the medicine tab. The main purpose for my use of this software will be with traditional herbal medicines and personally made tinctures. I would not be perscribing Rx drugs as I will not be licenced to do that, so to me that area is unusable at the moment. Also would it be possible to include in the medicines tab after the name and before the price a column for recommended dosage.

Thanks
Cody

I've renamed the bug report to make it more clear. That's definitely doable and I even think that would be a good idea because if no medicine search engines are available (and that's the default case since the only one that were available is not working anymore - the public database have been shutdown) the tab would be of no use to anyone. With this change one could always mantain a personal database for medicines, that could be enriched from online results in case they are available.

I've started an implementation of this idea that can be found in the branch lp:~leo.robol/local-medicines. At the moment being I have the search engine and the dialog to add new medicines. Both are working so one can add new medicine and then search them in from the GUI.

By the way, I think there should be at least some way to manage them (now you can't delete a medicine or even edit it). As soon as I will have implemented that I'll merge the branch in master so this can be included in the next release.

I have another thought... Should I add it to this one, or make a new
one? I was wondering if there would be a way to make your program do
"confirmation" emails or text messages for you. Or even if you click on
a confirmation button it would list all next day appointments with phone
numbers so you could do it manually.
Thanks again

This feature has been implemented in trunk, and should be available tomorrow in the clinica-daily repository. Any testing is appreciated!

Ok,
I've played with this and I like what you have done, except could you
make it able to insert the prescribed medicine into the visit report? I
mean while the visit is happening, the Dr. would go down the form to a
Rx spot and then it pull up the list from the private database, and then
selecting one would enter it into the visit. Maybe even multiple
selection...

Other than that it works great! I have done several entries and no issues.

Thanks again
Cody

Dear Cody, thanks for your feedback.
I think what you propose should be feasible. I'd like to discuss it implementation in greater detail, so I have opened another wishlist bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/clinica-project/+bug/1180694. Please, could you take the time to answer some of my questions
there?

Thanks for your contribution to Clinica,
Best wishes,

Leonardo Robol.
