Bug Description

We're seeing nearly 400 oopses/day with this traceback [1] while machines authenticate with the API.

It's just django's default 30char limit to first/last name tripping for users like https://login.launchpad.net/+id/eJfAftN

I've just checked since the last deploy, and although we fixed the issue on first/last name, we still see (with much less frequency) a similar traceback, which I've added with bug 1182329
