Bug Description

Hello,

on this machine, since the newest kernel updates the Nouveau driver doesn't get loaded anymore (the graphic card is a Geforce 2 MX). The unfortunate consequence is that the screen resolution is limited to 1024x768.

The last kernel version where the Nouveau driver works is 3.2.0-38 . If I run 3.2.0-39, 3.2.0-40 or the Quantal kernel 3.5.x, the Nouveau kernel modules are obviously not loaded during boot (the output of 'lsmod | grep nouveau' is empty). If I inspect the log files like /var/log/kern.log or /var/log/dmesg, I can't find any reference to the Nouveau driver and no possible hints why it wasn't loaded.

Kind regards,
Jan

I have a Geforce 500GT and occasionally get the same issue. I had to resort to using the NVidia binaries from the webiste.

I have just tested the lastet version of the 3.2 kernel and Nouveau is working properly again, so at least for me this problem is fixed.

Kind regards,
