Bug Description

I have an old acer aspire 3000 with sis 1039:6330. So, I configured the file xorg.conf with command "sudo Xorg -configure" and after that I copied the new xorg.conf file into /etc/X11. So now I can boot in lubuntu but I have low resolution 640x480. The only way to have the right resolution for my laptop is when I boot into recovery mode and after that I choose resume normal boot from recovery mode. Then the resolution is right 1024x768. It is very strange. Sorry for my english.

Xorg -configure is not a good idea nowadays. Let's see what happens without an xorg.conf file.

Run:
sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak

Log out and back in. Then run:
apport-collect 1168627

Changed in xorg (Ubuntu):

I just resolve this problem. I changed the driver with "vesa" in xorg.conf.Without xorg.conf , after the splash screen the monitor automatically turn on and turn off every one second.

So without xorg.conf I can't run a terminal so I can't run apport-collect. Is there any other way to do this?
