Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Just as stated in the subject. If I enable the macros, it will crash, if I don't it will give an error about basic something rather. Open Office 2.2
Ubuntu 7.04

Thanks,

Ernesto

Ernesto,

I was unable to get OpenOffice to ask me to enable/disable macros. And therefore it didn't crash since it didn't seem to attempt to run the macro at all.

Are you certain that the file you included in the report has the macros intact?

Thanks,

Chris Cheney

OK,

Here is the funny thing. Maybe it can shed some light.

I was opening this attachment from Evolution. There, when it opens this
doc, it will have the problem. I downloaded it into the Desktop, if I
disable macros, it will display, if it tries to run the macro, it has
the perpetual error. If I download it to from the website via firefox,
it will display without asking me about macros. Strange huh?

No sure why this was set as Evolution. Reset to OpenOffice.

Same here in Gutsy.

I tried to open a sxd-file with a macro. I am asked if I want to enable macros.

In both cases (enable/disable) OpenOffice.org crahes.

Appending affected file.

So does everyone who sees this bug only see it if receiving the file through evolution, like Ernesto does?

I am using the K Desktop Environment and have currently not installed Evolution.

But I will try this later today.

I tried using the file from maestro_alubia and it worked for me on openoffice 2.2.0-1ubuntu4, both with enable and disable macros.

Can anyone else reproduce the crash still on the current openoffice in new Feisty or Gutsy post the security release?

Thanks,

Chris Cheney

OK,

I opened it using the same version of openoffice. When I open it (from
my home directory), I get a window that say "Syntax error. Expected ,.".
If I hit OK enough times, it will come up. There is also a window
labeled openoffice basic which I get is kinda like visual basic. On
module [Schedule].Standard, there is a line with a red arrow pointing to
the 4th line..."Public WithEvents ColorButton As MSForms.CommandButton".
I am guessing it is trying to tell me that is where the error is. There
are a few more syntax errors after that. Is there a "compatibility" flag
I need to set?

Thanks,

Ernesto
